syncreon Renews ISO9001:2015 Accreditation in North America
syncreon, a leading specialized contract logistics company, announced they have retained ISO 9001 accreditation for its region consisting of 14 existing sites and 2 newly launched sites in North America. ISO is the independent International Organization for Standards that brings together experts to develop standards that support innovation. Its standards are implemented by more than a million organizations in over 175 countries.
ISO standards help syncreon further improve its ability to meet the needs and quality requirements of their customers. The ISO 9001:2015 standard focuses on requirements for establishing and maintaining optimal quality management systems. The new revision of the ISO standard contained significant changes such as:
Evidence of a risk-based management system
Evidence of process change management throughout the organization and not just the production processes
Evidence of training and competency throughout the organization
Top management ownership of the management system
On-site training and transition action plans for each of syncreon’s 16 sites resulted in an effective transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 for the region. Additionally, 6 sites were audited by the external registrar to the new revision of the standard resulted in a successful transition from ISO 9001:2008 to ISO 9001:2015 and certification.
