syncreon Lutterworth welcomes local students
Recently, Darren Markham, Lutterworth Site operations manager, along with the management team, entertained students from Lutterworth High School.
The school was looking for companies for students to visit within the local area with the goal of helping them learn about the world of work.
Visits took place across two days with approximately 15 students attending each day. Upon their arrival Darren gave an overview of syncreon and the work performed on-site. Students then toured the facility and asked various questions related to HR, inventory, quality assurance and operations.
Zoe Tur-Ribas, teacher at the school who accompanied the students, wrote to us following the visits and said, “thank you for both days last week, it was just right; short sharp bits of information are perfect. Lots of them really enjoyed it. Two of them would have signed up with you there and then!”
Many students were surprised by how many different jobs were available within the company. Finally, Zoe said, “the students enjoyed it and it gave them some something to think about in terms of a possible career route.”
The school will keep in touch with the site and syncreon Lutterworth plans to arrange something similar next year with the new Y7.
This initiative is a great example of partnering locally to teach school-aged children about business, and specifically about syncreon. Well done team!
