Tilburg Gets Creative in Support of Clini Clowns

The Tilburg maintenance team put a new twist on giving back – one that supports those in need and simultaneously helps the environment.

Recycling copper uses much less energy – approximately 10 percent of the energy needed for extraction. This energy savings leads to the conservation of valuable reserves of oil, gas or coal and reduces the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere.

With this knowledge, the team collected scrap electrical wires and stripped them down to the bare copper. They then delivered the copper to a local recycling company in exchange for payment. This creative initiative resulted in collecting 1,012 euros in return for scrap materials which they then donated. The full amount went to the CliniClowns charity, which brings resilience and lightness to sick and disabled children and people living with dementia in the Netherlands.
